I just found this written in my old notebook with song compilations. I can no longer remember where I got this but this is worth sharing….

make me yours

Lord, make me yours…

I have my own way of doing things but they’re not always what you want me to be.
See, I’m a sinner and You are Holy. I see what I can see but You see what everybody can’t see.

I want to stop toiling but You want me to continue so You gave me endurance.
I want to rest because I am tired but You want me to work so You gave me strength.
I want to have lots of money so that I can help my family but You want me to be contented so You gave us only the things we need.
I want to hate those who hurt me but You want me to forgive so You forgave me.
I went to places and seek my future but You held me back and gave joy in the position I am now.
I want to rebel because of the injustices they’ve shown me but You want me to rejoice so You gave me justice, oh so completely….
I want to hide when my enemies growl about me but You want me to face them squarely, and love in spite….

Now I understand….My ways are never your ways….My thoughts are never your thoughts…And now I’ll make a vow to die to myself and let You live in me…

Due to high technology brought by our modern world today, ALL in ONE has been a great interest to many people that causes high market in the business industry. From products to gadgets, from stores to hotels; whenever ALL in ONE is offered, people tend to buy and patronize such offer. Why not? When all you need is already in one product; all the applications you want is already in one gadget; all the things you need to buy is already in one store ; and all the luxury you need is available in one hotel.

While this world has so much to offer, people tend to focus more on the things around them and often neglect people around them. While I believe that Jesus is the best example of someone ALL in ONE, there are also people here on earth that can be considered as extraordinary available 24/7, ALL in ONE, and oftentimes free of charge – MOMS!

I would never realize the true value of my Mom until I became one. The sacrifices, efforts, kindness, love, care, and everything my  mom did, does and will do that oftentimes I took for granted, has no monetary equivalent….When I think about it now, I can hardly believe how she raised the four of us. She had been a plain housewife, then started her career when we were at our elementary years, and even studied to graduate in a four-year course at the age of 40 (as she only finished a two-year secretarial course due to lack of money). I witnessed the hardships and difficulties she had gone through balancing her time for all of us; as a mom and as a wife as well. She had sacrificed most of the time she would have had spent for herself. And for that, we will all be forever grateful for being blessed by having such a mom!

Looking up after my mom, I am also trying my best to be one of that All in One Mom package. I sacrificed my dreams and career to take good care of my son. And yet, in my very own little ways, I try to earn a living to help my husband. There are times when I feel so down when I fail how to be such a mom that I wanted to be especially in terms of disciplining my child. I wanted to give the best care,  the most loving discipline, the greatest quality time…to be the best mom, the best friend, the best teacher, the best adviser, the best story teller and the best example to honor and glorify God for my son…Yet being perfect is just too far knowing that the best of us is still yet to come…And that as of the moment each of us are also being changed from glory to glory.

I believe there are a lot of moms out there who can relate with me. You may not be in the same situation with mine but I know you are also striving your very best to be All in One. While we try so hard to be one, let us never forget that we don’t need to be perfect to do everything that we expect for ourselves or to be perfect to meet what others expect of us. The important is we are happy, we love, we are imperfect but we have a Perfect All in One God who would carry us and help us to create a little heaven down here by the unconditional love we give to our children and to the world.

Are You too Busy for God?

Dear Child,

As you got up this morning, I watched you and hoped you would talk to me, even if it was just a few words, asking my opinion or thanking me for something good that happened in your life yesterday – but I noticed you were too busy trying to find the right outfit to put on and wear to school/work. I waited again.

When you ran around the house getting ready, I knew there would be a few minutes for you to stop and say hello, but you were too busy. At one point you had to wait fifteen minutes with nothing to do except sit on the chair. Then I saw you spring to your feet. I thought you wanted to talk to me, but you ran to the phone and called a friend to get the latest gossip. I watched as you went to work and I waited patiently all day long. With all your activities, I guess you were too busy to say anything to me.

I noticed that before lunch you looked around, maybe you felt embarrassed to talk to me, that is why you didn’t bow your head. You glanced at three or four tables over and you noticed some of your friends talking to me briefly before they ate, but you didn’t. That’s okay. There is still more time left, and I have hope that you will talk to me yet you went home and it seems as if you had lots of things to do. After a few of them were done you scanned books for your class the next day or maybe turned on the TV. I don’t know if you like TV or not, just about anything goes there and you spent a lot of time each day in front of it, not thinking about anything – just enjoying the show. I waited patiently again as you watched the TV and ate your meal, but again you didn’t talk to me. Then you turned on your computer, check your emails, answered some of them and you were done, played for a while. It’s OK, I know how much you enjoy communicating with your friends and playing your computer games.

Bedtimes, I guess you felt too tired. After you said goodnight to y our family you plopped into bed and fell asleep in no time. That’s okay because you may not realize that I am always there for you. I’ve got patience more than you will ever know. I even want to teach  you how to be patient with others as well. I love you so much that I wait everyday for a nod, a prayer or thought or a thankful part of your heart. It is hard to have a one-sided conversation. Well, you are getting up again and once again I will wait with nothing but LOVE for you hoping that day you will give me some time…

Have a nice day!

Your GOD

My Inspiring Collections

I love to collect stuffs since I was young…Stationeries, stickers, figurines, stuff toys, stamps, autographs, and a lot more.  But what I love to collect the most are books, diaries, quotes, poems, stories, songs, text messages, letters, journals, something that has to do with words..Such attitude makes me unique and until now though I am already a mom, I still have time for this favorite hobby of mine…

As I check back my collections, I found a clear book which contained some of the inspiring stories, letters and reflections I had collected way back college time that I wanted to share….These are just my collections and some are not my own compositions…I no longer have a record as to where I got some of these stuffs, so I may not be able to put here the author of such compositions..

As I share and open these collections of mine, may these serve as inspirations, eye openers, reminders that would bless your life to make you be a blessing to others as well….

The Assurance of God’s Forgiveness

Have you been in a situation where you think your life has no direction at all? And that no matter what you do you still feel that you are hopeless?useless?meaningless?lost? because of the consequences of the choices you made in life? Or because of the hurts and pains someone had caused you?

Was there a point in your life when you just feel the guilt inside of you consuming your every breath because of the sins you committed? And you don’t know how to start all over again?

At some point in our lives, I believe all of us had committed sin as it was written in Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” And this sin was the root cause why we got separated from the love of God and lost the joy of having that relationship with Him. And by loosing such joy, our lives start to wander like the parable of the lost son in the bible. And until such time when we can no longer take it anymore and all we want to do is just to go back home and embrace the love that we are seeking for.

But somehow, at the back of our minds, we are clouded by so many questions, so many what ifs and we even fear of not being accepted again by the people we had hurt with or perhaps, the guilt continues to haunt us that it keeps us from moving on and start a brand new life over again.

For all the questions, doubts, fears, and any other emotions that are holding you back, there is one single STEP that you should take to have a new start. And that is FORGIVENESS…

I know some of you may not agree with me especially those who were badly hurt or broken. And others may also think that it isn’t just that easy…But hey, if you want to be free, FORGIVE and BE FORGIVEN!

When I became a christian on October 13, 2003, one of the verses I truly embraced is 1 John 1:9 – “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” This verse which holds the assurance of forgiveness had made a big difference and impact in my life. Confessing my sins brought relief to my conscience and made me able to forgive those who had done me wrong as well.

On the other hand, I know that confession of sins is not enough but one must also live as FORGIVEN to experience the joy of God’s love in fullness…Satan will always try to snatch back that joy and remind you of your sin to make you feel guilty over and over again. So I will share with you one of the stories I had read which became my favorite from a book Will Daylight Come? by Richard Hoefler.

The story tells about a little boy who visited his grandparents and was given his first ever slingshot. He practiced in the woods, but he could never hit his target.

As he came back to his grandparent’s yard he noticed grandma’s duck trouncing through the back yard. On an impulse he took aim and let it fly. The stone hit the duck and the duck fell dead. The boy panicked and desperately he hid the dead duck in the woodpile only to look up and see his sister watching. Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing.

After lunch that day, Grandma said, “Sally let’s wash the dishes.” But Sally said, “Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen today, didn’t you Johnny?” And she whispered to him. “Remember the duck!” So Johnny did the dishes.

Later grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing. And grandma said, “I’m sorry but I need Sally to help make supper.” Sally smiled and said, “Grandma, that’s all taken care of. Johnny wants to help with dinner.” Again she whispered to him. “Remember the duck.” Johnny stayed while Sally went fishing.

After several days of Johnny doing both his and Sally’s chores, he couldn’t stand it. He confessed to Grandma that he’d killed the duck.

“I know Johnny,” she said giving him a hug. “I was standing at the window and saw the whole thing. Because I love you, I forgave you. I just wondered how long you were going to let Sally make a slave of you.”

Do you still keep remembering your ducks? Do you still live with heavy guilt and shame everyday that you deny yourself to experience pure joy and happiness? How do you think God feels that He gave His only Son on the cross to forgive us and yet we just keep carrying around such sin?

God has seen everything that we’ve done and has already forgiven us so why allow Satan to keep enslaving us? Trust in God and let him take away all the shame, guilt, hurts and pains you are experiencing. For he had said in Isaiah 43:25: “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins.”

Be free today…and be TRULY HAPPY!

From Dear Diary to Dear God

In my teen years, I love to write my day to day experiences in a diary as well as compose poems to express my emotions. I  always tell myself before that the purpose why I love to keep diaries and compositions is that, one day when I’m gone, I want people to remember me on how I had lived my life through my diary; in good times and in bad times, in success and failures, through life’s ups and downs, twists and turns, and hopefully, they’d learn from my experiences.

However, there came a point when I hated some of the things I had written in my diary and decided to just burn it and forget it anyway. And at that moment, I realized that indeed, it is very difficult to live a life that would be pleasing to others and to yourself.

As I grew more mature, I learned that your life doesn’t need to be really perfect because after all, we are all imperfect living in an imperfect world together with imperfect people around us. And what matters most is not on how to please others and yourself with your life but on how to please the One Perfect God who gave and design your life according to His perfect will.

Today, I no longer hate those bad experiences I had written in my diary. Instead, I accepted the reality that there were really times in my life I committed mistakes…Those times when I walked away from the purpose and perfect will my Creator had designed my life to be. And no matter how many times I will burn those diaries of mine, such reality can no longer be changed and all I can do is move on from there, learn and be thankful because those experiences made me the best of who I am today.

At present, I still keep an account of my life’s experiences..But this time, I no longer call it a diary but a journal. The content are still not perfect and not free from mistakes and the not so good experiences, but I am more confident that one day, people who would read this will not just learn from me but be blessed as well of how God turned my life the way it must be. I also still compose poems but no longer as emotional as my compositions before where most are heartaches and pains and puppy love. Rather, more on the beauty of life and how to be grateful for it. Another thing is, I found another way where to express my emotions – through a prayer journal where I can tell anything and everything to my God. In this manner, I am as well keeping an account of God’s assurance in answered prayer in which serves as my testimony. My life had been truly amazing when my Dear Diary has evolved to my Dear God!

I also understand that not all people love to write like me..You don’t need to follow me..Just turn your address from Dear Whoever to Dear God and your life will be just amazing as you’ve never imagined it to be…

A Birthday Present

It has been a tradition to our country to give a gift or present during special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, christmas, baptism, etc. And oftentimes, it is the celebrator who receives such gift. According to wikipedia, a gift or a present is the transfer of something without the expectation of payment. Although gift-giving might involve an expectation of reciprocity, a gift is meant to be free.

One of the greatest gifts one can give and receive is the gift of life. A mother who gives her life for her child, a friend who sacrifices his own life for a friend, a soldier who offers his life for his country, and above all, our God who gave the life of His own son to save humankind; these are just few examples of the gift of life freely given away. And since gift is meant to be special for someone special, one must be very thankful for the gift of life. Somehow, it’s just quite sad to know that oftentimes, this gift of life is just valued by people who are sick and with severe illnesses but mostly taken for granted by people who are not. Some even throws such gift on a trash like those babies thrown in canals and garbage cans, and worst, some just puts an end to another’s life.

While these are some sad realities in life, it is still so inspiring to know that such gift is needed by others and even if this gift arrives damaged and not perfect, there are still people who lovingly takes and embraces it. This is the gift of Julian’s life given to his foster parents. And even if he was not wrapped specially and perfectly, his parents accepted him perfectly. And during his birthday, he was confined for an operation to make his life better. Conquering all the pains the operation had caused him, God made this gift extraordinary as he is and was able to survive it all to make his life a special birthday present for his mom and dad.
